Slow processing of a claim results in extra costs

For some reason, a claim took almost 12 days to process before the panel beaters could begin working on the car.

This is now resulting in me having to pay for car rental myself.
The call center is blaming me as I went overseas and for some reason this means that I should have returned the rental car, that was used to drive me to the airport.

I am very disappointed and switching insurance providers as a result.
