I have a Standard Bank elite banking account which I pay R 99 a month for. This account is suppose to provide me with free unlimited updates on my account whenever a transaction occurs. However this has not been happening in some cases. I have been to the branches several times trying to sort this issue out, at first there was a limit amount for which I would be notified, eg. only purchases over R100. I explained to the consultant that this is unacceptable and I want to know if even 1 cent leaves my account. This worked for about the next 4 or 5 transactions. Thereafter I found the service working now and then!!! My account is at risk because of this poor service! I would also like to complain about the staff I encountered who when answering my queries reply with answers like "I think ...", showing there uncertainty. On top on the R 99 a month I found out that I am being charged an extra R 9 for a statement and R 25 for an overdraft facility. This goes against the advert I saw on tv, I guess I have to pay for blocking the sun in the branch!
