I took out a smart loan with them last year but wanted to pay it back quickly. So i went to the Cleaveland branch to get an account number where i could pay back more so i can settle my debt quicker. They gave me account number 62076830449 where i made 3 payments: R400 on the 19th of October 2012, R2000 on the 14th of January 2013 and R500 on the 22nd of January 2013. I was shocked when i kept on getting calls from them claiming my account is in arrears because as far as i was concerned i was paying ahead. I then discovered that the cleaveland branch gave me the wrong account number, i was suppose to use account number 62076830449. They charged me extra amounts and arrears for the time i was paying into the wrong account which was no fault of my own. When my wife enquired they told her the amount has been reversed but i don't know if that's true for sure because the balance is still so high.

Now twice i have been to their branch to ask them to debit my account with an extra R500 every week, i think it's safer than me making the payment myself lest i pay into the wrong account again. But two months later they are only taking the minimum in
