On 2 -12- 2012 my maid received sms notification that R850 was withdrawn from her bank account at BRACKEN CITYP. This transaction was not carried out by her, and the bank card was with her at all times. She never left Johannesburg. I queried the withdrawal on her behalf on 3 December at the number on the SMS and was told that they would investigate and get back to us in 10 working days. This did not happen, despite several more calls, and on 14 Dec 2012 I was given a case reference: 201212100004. The holiday period intervened. I called the Bank again on 11 January and was referred to the Division at the bank. on 0112274905. They advised that they had decided not to refund the money as "there was no previous history of on the account, " and the case was now closed. I was then referred to Customer Care, who could not assist further. This is totally unacceptable and unfair, as a Customer has been defrauded by what seems to be an insider at the Bank (they left R3.49 in the Account)
