8 hour delay with no compensation

I was booked on flight BA6414 from CT - Jhb on 27 Nov 2012. We were already on the plane, when we were told there is a problem and we have to disembark. We got off the plane and were told to go to the checkin counters again.

The flight was then delayed and we were told to wait at the checkin gate. The flight was then delayed until 4pm and then until 6pm, and then until 8pm, and then called off completely. They then arranged to put passengers on other flights, but I decided to go home and rather fly the next morning instead of putting myself in danger iof driving in Jhb at 11pm alone.

I was flying for business, and this 8 hour delay caused a major loss in productivity, and also cost me R250 of my own money for lounge access. I have been looking for a way to contact Executive Club since then but there is no email address on the website. Also, no compensation of any sort was offered for inconvenience and trauma on the day due to a full day being wasted at the airport.

I expect some kind of compensation from BA for this. It is unacceptable to have such kind of delays on commercial flights of this nature.
