I flew PE-CT 6/4/13, flight 1810.Once landed passengers waited? 10-15min for the luggage conveyor belt to start, no announcements made about the delay. When i got my luggage it had been broken into. The sizable lock was missing&both zips broken. I went to the SAA help desk, where they informed me that my bag will be fixed by them& will take 1-2days, they gave me a loaner bag&explained that I have 7days to declare any goods. 12/4/13 having heard nothing about my bag I phoned to declare the goods, enquire about my bag&explained that I had surgery done on 8/4/13, am in bed& the bag will need to be delivered, also that I need to see the repair BEFORE I leave to check if I am satisfied, otherwise I will be claiming for the bag too. The man said he would get back to me. Today (14/4/13) I STILL haven't heard back about my bag, nor has anyone explained to me about when/how I will receive compensation for items. Furthermore I feel an investigation should be done as to why it took so long for the belt to start. Cutting the lock would require a lock/bolt cutter, a very visable process. Perhaps many employees were involved?
