I travel from Polokwane to Pretoria on a monthly service and back. On Sunday 07 April 2013, I realized that I was running about 5 minutes late to board the bus from Pretoria to Polokwane at 10:30. I called the call centre at 09:55 and spoke to Shadrack Mabitsela and asked them to notify the driver that I would be about 5 minutes late and asked that they wait for me. He told me that it was impossible for him to do that because that was not allowed. I was surprised by this because on a couple of trips that I have taken on the Translux bus, the driver was called to wait for a few passengers who were 30 minutes late and they didn't even have the decency to tell us why we had stopped. I had to ask the coach hostess what was happening and she said we were waiting for other passengers. I could not understand why I was any different to those passengers. Apparently they received communique last year that they were not to make exceptions for late coming but they did for other passengers this year. This is why I prefer the Greyhound coaches to this day. They have a better service.
