We were appalled by the lack of compassion and rude mannerism received by the staff member on duty at the Mango Desk at the Lanseria Airport on the 23/03/2013. We had booked a flight on your airline to CPT @18:25. When the passenger arrived at 17:50 he was told the CHECK-IN for the flight had closed already and was refused admission because he was 5 min late? Yet 2 other passengers were called over the intercom for the same flight at that moment. How is that even possible? The passenger did not even have Check-IN baggage on him!
We then re scheduled the flight for Sunday the 24/03/2013@09:30. We were charged penalties and the difference in the price of the flight to the amount of R1200? We had to just book the flight and pay the penalties as the passenger needed to return to CPT rather urgently to attend to a family matter. We request the matter be looked into, We request a refund on the additional amount of R1200 that we had to pay in. Being treated the way we did by the abrupt person at the Mango desk on that day was not only degrading to us but rather unprofessional! Had Mango had more competent, compassionate and friendly staff this entire situation would have been avoided!
