Disabled Parking

Traveling & Tourism

I took my Brother who is a Paraplegic in a wheel chair to the Airport on 24.03.2013. I stopped my vehicle in the Disabled Parking. Took my bother into the Airport and assisted him on to the Plane. When I returned to my vehicle, it was missing. I then went to the Parking offices where I was informed by a very Rude and unhelpfull lady named Prudence, that my vehicle was towed based on the fact that I stopped on a Disabled Parking. I told her that I had to park there to assist my brother because of his condition. To this she answered that I had to leave my brother (Who cant speak or Walk) at the Drop off area on his own and then go park my car and then came back to my brother. This to me is UNACCEBLE!!! I even showed her my brothers Ticket as proof that he is disabled, but this was not acceptable to Prudence. I expect ACSA to refund my R650 based on the fact that I did have a disabled person with me and based on the fact that I was treated as if I am a criminal after providing proof that I was infact allowed to park on that spot. I would also suggest to ACSA to rather clamp the wheels of the vehicle instead of having them towed. I expect an apology and a phone call to discuss this issue.
