No response to overbooking in peak season

2.5 weeks ago I was told that my case would be looked into regarding myself and my family not getting onto a Kulula flight due to overbooking.
I paid a heft price for a ticket from George to JHB last month and got bumped off despite the fact we were at checkin with plenty time spare.
As a result I missed my international connection. How can companies do this. No voucher/coupon/refund, or anything was offered.
I was told my case was being looked into but and I queried it last week as to why I had not heard back, but this also had no response - clearly this one has fallen by the wayside.

Does it really take 2.5 weeks to look into? Whats the verdict Kulula?
