Website prices change between purchases

Good Day

This morning I booked 3 return flights to George. Firstly the flight to George was R1201 which I booked for myself A Greyling. While I was paying for my ticket the price changed to R1395 to George. I then phoned the call centre and the lady informed me that its when a certain class is sold out the price goes up-fair enough. I also asked her does the price come down? - she replied no. Then I proceeded to book the tickets for J Greyling & J Greyling as I began to panic that the price would just increase even more. Best of all once I paid for these tickets the price was back down to R1201.I was then informed that somebody was holding those tickets and probably released them at the time. I asked if I cannot then reverse my transaction and purchase the tickets at the R1201 at which the response was- no transaction is done. I find this unacceptable that prices can change within 5/10 minutes and then back again. How does the price change back to what it was? Please could I have a refund. The return fare never changed
