Ridiculous Fee for flying with Infant

I bought my airline ticket a month ago flying Mango to Cape Town.

Whilst I was booking there was nowhere I noticed I had to book my infant as well.

I therefore phoned them to add her on.

As far as my knowledge went children under 2 travelled for free. But then I found out I have to pay airport tax and a fee for adding her to my flight which amounted to almost the same amount as my ticket and she will be sitting on my lap!!! Not even having her own seat!!!

This is ridiculous!!! She is 4 months old. I might as well booked a seat for her!!

On the new Mango website it is obviously noted that you are booking an infant. Not when I booked.
