Charging more Voyager Miles than Stated on Website

G'day. I have just tried to book 2-pax 1-way Qantas flights from Perth to Melbourne using Voyager Miles. The [URL Removed] website lists the required miles as 28000 Voyager miles. The call center agent however quoted me 42000 miles. I asked him to verify the required miles for me, and after consulting his supervisor, he advised me that the website information was out of date and they would not honour the required miles as stated on the website. Could anyone let me know if a business is legally allowed to renege on an advertised offer on their website?
