On 2 April I called Telkom to book a phone line and ADSL Line to be moved, over FOUR week's notice for the requested move.
I was even super-diligent, and called the relevant call centre TWICE since making the booking and on both occasions they confirmed with me that the booking was made for today, Monday 29 April 2013. When, by lunchtime today, I had heard nothing from the Telkom technicians, I called Telkom's call centre, only to be told that there is no booking for today, and that the earliest booking I can get is on Monday 6th May 2013.
This is TOTALLY unacceptable when I booked the line move four weeks ago, AND confirmed it TWICE.
To make matters worse, I work from home and the cell phone signal in our new home is non-existent. This also means we are not picking up anything stronger than EDGE in terms of wireless protocols for Internet connection so it is totally impossible to work until they install the line
The fact that after three phone calls and plenty of notice and the assurance that a booking was made, NOTHING was done, is completely, utterly and totally unacceptable and the epitome of bad service. It is beyond shocking.
