Mac Users Beware of MTN!

I bought a 3g dongle from MTN last June/July 2012. I was very specific about the fact that i was working on a Mac. Since then i have struggled to get internet. I tested it on other people's computers - it seemed to work on some. So i took it two IT Companies, PC Mac & DigiCape to test the dongle and my Mac in case i may have an incorrect setting - neither could get the dongle to connect or stay connected. After 3 mths, it was suggested that my Mac was maybe too old for the dongle software - so i forked out & bought the lastest Macbook Pro. And STILL nothing!!!

Back to DigiCape to test again & they confirmed that they didn't know why it wasn't working. Took it back to MTN where they asked to test my dongle & Mac - same results. FINALLY, they confirmed with the call centre that in fact the dongle does NOT work on a Mac - even though the packaging says 10.5.3. So i asked to cancel the service. The CPA says that a customer can cancel any contract within 6 months without penalties & full refund. MTN is obviously exempt - i've been paying for almost a yr for nothing & instead of refunding me, they want me to pay even more to cancel! Guess who's leaving MTN when my contractS expire...
