Confused Customer, Who do I trust

Been a happy MTN 1 4 1 customer but open to value added products.

Read online that 8TA users are given 1 minute airtime for every 3 minutes received in phone calls.

Called the call centre and they confirmed this on Thursday.

Changed my number to 8ta and notified all business contacts.

Yesterday after my number was confirmed the day before as being eligible, Im told this is not the case.

Please explain why my time is being wasted when I could be earning points via MTN. MTN rewards customers for simply subscribing to their service, not making them spend money.
