Upon visiting the MTNstore in Cape Gate TWICE to enquire about a replacement battery, I was sent to a service centre in Milnerton. To my utter dismay and disbelief, this company (Samtech) no longer existed and hadn't for some months. Upon returning to the Cape Gate store and insisting on seeing management, I was eventually allowed to see a person who claimed to be a manager. After listening to excuses (not apologies) I found out that this person was not a manager, but some supervisor.
She INSISTED that Samtech was at that address (5 Bolt Park, Bolt Avenue) and I invited her to go over there, to which she responded that they send lots of customers there.!!
Coming from a national retail environment myself, I asked "what happened to going the extra mile" for a customer, and was greeted with a blank stare.
My concern is that a national company like MTN is prepared to look the other way when their "managers" hide behind red tape and ignore the real issues of their loyal customers.
All I wanted was a replacement battery, as my upgrade-phone (Samsung Galaxy) came with a faulty battery, and I live in the country-side far from an MTN store. The website Complaints link is also in shambles.
