I recently went directly to Head Office (14th Avenue) to upgrade two (2) Top Up contracts and was told that this is how I will be "penalised if I wish to stay on the "top Up" option: I will be penalised wih a monthly penalty fee of R120, 00, I will have to forfeit 400 of the 500 sms and 300 of the 500 MB offered!! This is on my current Talk500 Top Up, and the same aplies to the Talk200 Top Up.
The consultant blatently confirmed that this is MTN's way of making money, forceing customers to go go onto "Anytime" thus putting MTN in control, whereas when I remain on the Top Up options, I am in control of money, sms's and data spent.
When wanting to discuss the the matter with manegement; the lady did not even bother to come out of her ofice and conveyed a 2nd hand message via the retentions consultant saying "take it of leave it, that is how it is"... And that simply becasue I wanted to stay on the Top Up options.
Shame on you MTN! I now regret the fact that I have ported from another network...
