Overcharged on Data contract

My 2 year data contract came to an end some months ago. I was contacted by someone from Vodacom and advised of the fact that my contract had expired and was offered a new contract for double the data at a much cheaper rate. I accepted and had to stand and listen to a lot of absolute jabber before they would finalise the new contract. I presumed that the new contract would automatically replace the old contract. However, this was not the case. Vodacom continued to debit me with both the old and the new contracts. When I discovered what was happening some months later I phoned them to demand a refund. Their response was that it was my duty to cancel the previous contract and they refused to refund the monies debited in respect of the old contract even although no data had been used since the start of the new contract. Vodacom contacted me and offered me the new contract to replace the existing one. I think this is exceedingly unfair and tantamount to
