I have an adsl line with Telkom - which for the past year has been slower than a dial up - when it is working... which is not very often.

There is so much noise on the line that I am lucky if I can stay connected for 1 hour without the line disconnecting. I have to reset my modem 20 to 30 times a day which is not only extremely annoying but also time consuming and is affecting my business efficiency.

Several times the line has stopped working completely - and has taken up to 6 weeks to be repaired - because the technicians dont seem capable of resolving the problem.

My line is again not functioning - and as in the past - a technician arrives to repair it - and then leaves - telling me that it needs to be repaired at the exchange - and then... NOTHING. I have called repeatedly and been told "the problem is being attended to by the technician" but I've been without an adsl line for 11 days - and Telkoms solution is to "escalate" my complaint - as if allocating a new number is going to fix the line.

Every time I ask the consultant what I need to do to cancel my contract I am told to hang on - which I dont have time to do as I actually have a job to do.
