Vodacom
SIM Swap Problems

Telecommunications

Hi,

I went to the vodashop store at canal walk on Saturday to get a nano SIM for my new iPhone (I already have a Vodacom contract and all I wanted was a new SIM), I was told that they can't do anything for me as the contract is not in my name even though I have all the information of the contract holder and technically was not changing anything to do with the contract. But I was told that I can buy the SIM card and email through the documentation, which I did on Sunday morning. I sent an email on Tuesday morning asking for a progress update and have heard nothing (it does not take more than 24hrs to do a sim swap).

It is now Tuesday evening (8pm) and I just received an email from Roxanne saying she made a mistake and I need to bring the SIM back to the shop in Century City so they can give me the correct sim. I do not live in Cape Town, but rather 60km away and thus it is not feasible to drive through, I only went to that branch as I was in the area. I have asked that another plan be made with a store closer to me but she seems uncooperative, and further more a phone call goes a long way. I should not have to be incoveneiced due to incompetent staff.
