Outrageous quote for damages, caused by PHONE!!!

I took my phone in on 5 March to Vodacom in Tygervalley Mall, within a day or 2 a sms was sent to say it has been sent for Higher level repair in JHB. A few days later I got an sms for a quote of R2052 for physical damage. I explained to Este and Ishereen, that my phone got excessively hot while charging and when I removed my charger, the port was attached to the charger. Therefore, the physical damage is not caused by ME, but the actual PHONE. Neither Este or Ishereen understands that there is something wrong with the phone/battery, which caused it to overheat, which then caused the physical damage (main board secured inside the phone) on the phone. I have asked to speak to senior management, but Ishereen wouldn't send me details. I am not going to accept responsibility and pay R2052, for damage that I did not cause!! I sincerely hope that someone can assist and grasp/understand that there is something wrong with the battery/phone which caused the phone to overheat, and caused the port to physically break off. Hope that this issue can be resolved ASAP as I have 24 emails going back and forth between Este and Ishereen, trying to explain the above. (I purposefully repeated myself).
