MTN Network Problems

Since early this morning 20 March 2013 the MTN network seems to be having problems, in the Bellville area at least. There were intermittent signs of life, but for most of the time no phone calls were possible in or out, SMSes were blocked, 3G data access was not available. Phone was basically a paper-weight. I have been an MTN contract subscriber since 1995, and after this and other recent MTN network problems in my area, I am seriously convinced that it is time to abandon ship and switch network providers. MTN - if you are reading this, why don't you at least post visible network outage notices on your website and keep your customers updated on problems and progress in solving those problems? This lack of information and service is really frustrating. Are you at least going to refund your customers for this day's worth of interrupted service?
