I was approached today by Telkom to consider upgrading my ADSL line from 1MB to 2MB. I was told this would ensure immediate downloading. My experience with Telkom is that when I had a 384KB line, I was lucky to attain 120 KB download speed. Since I am on a 1MB line, I at best attain 600 KB download speed. However, since being approached to upgrade, suddenly my download speed, as attested to by [URL Removed] tests, is between 20KB and 120KB, i.e. pretty much unusable. Is this a coincidence. I hope so. If Telkom sell a service, please deliver what you promise, and not a facsimile of that promise.
