Called 808 to purchase data special, which I might add, was on the website but when directed to the specific item, record of deal unavailable, so was forced to phone 808. I told the lady who answered what i wanted and she proceeded to ask me 101 questions to update my nearly 12yr account. FINALLY put me thru to SALES -
no mention was made that this is no longer a free number, only that if i get cut off here is the number to dial... 083 etc. I was not cut off and duly got thru, asked the lady there for the data deal. After she went thru 101 questions AGAIN I was told that she would contact me later. NOW WE ALL KNOW THATS A LIE!!! and cut me off. Imagine my horror when i checked my balance the following day and saw over R100 was used to MTN CALL CENTRE FREE CALLS. My absolute disgust is that MTN used MY money to update their records and didnt advise me that the SALES Dept is NOT a free call. I feel that nothing less than a refund would be
in order.
