I took two-year out a data contract with Vodacom in 2010 - which lasted up until June 2012. I called through in May 2011 enquiring about the end of the contract and was told that once the contract ends, it ends. Upon checking my statement last month, I was surprised to see that I was still being charged for that same data contract - almost a year later. Three weeks ago I called Vodacom to find out what was happening - no one can give me proper answers, saying that they've investigated and I did not call through to cancel the contract, yet I did. A contract is a contract is a contract. Once it ends, it ends. And Vodacom should call the customer to find out if they'd like to continue with it and not just assume that the customer does. Have made 4 calls to the call centre since and still no response. Am highly annoyed and want this matter sorted NOW! Have been with Vodacom with over 10 years and this is putrid service. Consumer protection act to the rescue. Not letting this go! I want a refund and I want answers about being charged for a contract that has not been used since May 2011.
