My Smartdata prepaid 12 month 24gb package recently expired. I use this product in my iPhone. The product recently expired and I went along to the Cell C store in Adderley Street, Cape Town and tried to sign up for one of the Giga packages (Giga200). I was told that I could not keep my number but would have to buy a NEW SIM card and get a different number. The staff were VERY unhelpful and rude and made no attempts to help me. I then called the call centre and after holding for 25 minutes, was told the same thing. Is makes NO sense that existing customers cannot keep their number and take advantage of a good product offering. All it takes is someone in Technical to simply change the Giga200 SIM card to use my existing number.
