Terrible Service from Cell C

I placed an order for the phone & waited weeks for its delivery (the delay is slightly understood due to production issues & time of the year). I received my phone yesterday.
I wanted to port my current number (so as not to lose it) & was instructed by the cell c getting started booklet not to insert and activate the new nano sim until I had called the call centre. I did so today & was told directly that the number had been ported & that I could in fact insert the sim and setup the phone. I followed the agents instructions & set the phone up as well as the network settings. I tried to use the phone a while later & after some investigation realised that the number had not been ported but rather that I had been allocated a cell c number (not the number I requested being swapped). I called in to the call centre once again only to be told that I could not port a number now that I had activated the cellular phone (and sim) but that it would now come at an additional cost of R250. I asked to speak to the team lead (Tshepso) & I am still waiting for him to get back to me as the additional cost was not highlighted to me when I signed up for the contract initially.
