Telecommunications

I upgraded my cellphone in August last year to an Apple I4. In November it started discharging quickly, even when not being used. The battery would go completely flat in 2 hours. I took it in for warranty repairs and it was repaired under warranty and at no cost to myself.

I spent the whole December with my son and his wife in Tucson, Arizona, USA. Arizona is desert and gets almost no rain. Incidentally in that time, my son's wife dropped her Iphone (I4 same as mine) into a basin of water. Evertyhing still worked except the camera.

In January I returned to SA and my phone started giving the same problem - discharging. Not once did it ever come even close to any moisture. I took it in for repairs and was told that I would have to pay for a replacement phone because it had "water damage" I dispute this.

I was eventually forced to pay R2960 for a new phone. It is very clear that Vodacom use the "water damage" excuse to get out of their obligations to pay to repair/replace faulty phones. I was also told that I am a. I categorically state that phone NEVER came into contact with moisture. Also it took 4 weeks and not 14 days as they promised. Their service is disgusting.
