I moved to Somerset West on 20 January. I received a date for the activation of the new line to be done on the 28th of January. On that day there was complications to the line from the man hole to the house. 100% understandable. I rescheduled for the 4th of February for a new line to be fed through and the line activation, with the request that the technician must phone me before he goes out to the house so I can arrange for somebody to be at the house. Never phoned me and never got feedback on what he did. When I enquired what he did, nobody could tell me. Once again I asked that the technician phone me before he arrives so I could arrange for somebody to be at the house. On Thursday 7 February I received a call from my neighbour that the technician was at the house again but he did not have the right wires for the job, he will go back the Friday. The Friday AGAIN the technician went to the house without informing me, and then told my neighbour that the job is done. I received no communications of this. At the moment I can only phone Telkom, no landlines or cellphones. The wrong line was also activated because of the lack of communication from Telkom. This is totally unacceptable.
