Nokia Lumia 920 functionalty issues

Wife purchased new Nokia Lumia 920 which cannot dial " 27" numbers. When I leave her a missed call my number appears as " 27 82. When she attempts to call me back the phone says the number is invalid. 27 numbers work fine on a Blackerry.
She cannot create music lists either. The internet is filling up with complaints in this area as well. This is not a very good phone.
