After having NO phone lines as well as NO ADSL since January 16 due to cable we finally got a technician here yesterday, February 4 (19 days with no phones). This is after making a daily cell phone call to the Telkom call centre (no other form of contact exists) where one must 'hold on' for 25 to 40 minutes each time.

We were then informed that the non-working lines have now been disconnected due to non-payment of an account which has never been received in any form, material or electronic. Perhaps they tried to phone us? Today we made payment of R7487, 21 for non-service and no phone lines.

Now that the account issue is out of the way we are again 'on hold' via cell phone to the call centre as we write this to request that they please send a technician again, once 're-connected', to see if indeed Telkom can supply us with a telephone service.

This is reminiscent of Monty Pythons Cheese Shop that does, in fact, not have any cheese at all.
