Vodacom
Unco-operative in helping with handset query

Telecommunications

I went to Vodashop Cresta, as I purchased my phone from them, Mdu advised me to take it downstairs to the repair centre to get it checked out. At the repair store, the IT guy simply told me that my microphone is faulty and needs to be replaced; please book your phone in.
As the phone is my business as I run an aesthetic clinic and work 7 days a week, I cannot afford to loose any data. I asked the assistant manager, Vincent Mwanza, how long this would take, the phone didn't read my usb cable either so I could not make a complete backup. I asked if the IT guy could do it for me to skydrive - yes he can but I would have to pay for it. Excuse me, the phone is new under guarantee and I cannot do it as the usb cable isn't recognised due to some fault with the phone and I need to pay? Also, he could not assist me with a loan phone as they are all out and it may take 10 days to be sorted. It's not his problem if I haven't got a phone or loose business. He was extremely unprofessional in helping me, as were the other employees of that repair centre. Needless to say, Mdu (from the other shop) came down to help me, but why does the phone have to be reset by Vodacom to replace a microphone?
