Uncapped ADSL so slow am I being throttled?

We have a business uncapped 4mbps line and it has been operating perfectly until the last few days - now it takes over a minute to get a response on a simple internet search - we have had a larger than normal usage this month and from other posts I am reckoning we have been throttled. What I don't know is how long this will last or what to do re usage to get back to where we were a few days ago regarding speed... if only someone had let me know during the month we could have prevented this incredibly frustrating situation at month end..
