I had a handset, went through to an mtn service Centre for a cheap replacement until insurance claim is processed, I am told that I am due for upgrade and this wont affect the insurance reimbursing me. I go ahead and upgrade mine and my wife's contract (BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER). Subsequently I am told by mtn insurance that they do not do cash reimbursements (CONTRACT IS VERY VAGUE AND MISLEADING) and I must replace my handset, they will pay the insured value less a few charges that they deducted (NOTE THIS IS NOT THE EXCESS, YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY THAT OVER AND ABOVE THEIR DEDUCTIONS WHICH IS NEVER DISCLOSED WHEN SIGNING UP). After arguing that I have already upgraded and getting nowhere I decided to look at getting an additional device, to my surprise I find out that you can only replace the device at an mtn service Centre where the device, well rather the device I wanted is an EXTRA R1000. I then approach mtn via social media, I am told somebody will contact me to resolve the matter, STILL WAITING! MTN operates in a totally unethical manner with regards to their insurance, NON DISCLOSURE WITH MATTERS LIKE THIS IS IN CONTRAVENTION OF THE CPA! I regret my choice of service provide
