No statement no calls send account to attourneys

I cancelled my Telkom service MORE then 6 months ago, I paid all outstanding amounts and confirmed with the consultant and she told me it was marked off as being cancelled. I called again 1 month later to confirm, the consultant from the call centre confirmed that the account and line were all closed and canceled and were up to date. It's now months later I get a call from DMI attorneys about an outstanding account. On top of that they add their charges plus they charge R25 for every time they have to call me. They always proceed to call my HOME LAND LINE during the DAY WHEN I'M AT WORK so for obvious reasons I CANT ANSWER. they did this 5 times today lucky I was off from work and received the call. The attorney then said he was going to send me an email with all the details. HE HAD MY EMAIL ADDRESS WHY DID HE NOT EMAIL ME MONTHS AGO INSTEAD OF CALLING ME AND CHARGING ME FOR NOT ANSWERING. WHY DID TELKOM NOT CONTACT ME ABOUT THIS AMOUNT OR SEND ME A STATMENT INSTEAD OF MONTHS LATER SENDING IT TO THE ATTOURNEYS. HOW WAS I SUPPOSE TO KNOW ABOUT THE ACCOUNT WHEN TELKOM MADE NO EFFORT IN CONTACTING ME AT ALL. had I know I would have paid the account, why must I now pay attorney fees!
