Huge Telecom
Contract

Telecommunications

I wanted to terminate my contract with HUGE TELECOM (PTY) LTD / CENTRACELL (PTY) LTD. I gave the required 20 working days notice. I asked them what compenstion they would require as I was terminationg my contract early. I then got a letter from there attorney stating - "Kindly note that in terms of your agreement, your contract ends on 6 September 2014. You are only entitled to give notice at the end of the contract period.
Should you wish to terminate prematurely, you would be liable for my client's loss of profit on management fees and call usage. Notwithstanding the above, my client has proposed that should you wish to cancel, you would be liable for management fees for ten months plus Vat.
I feel this is unreasonable compenstion and goes against the against the consumer act.
