On hold four times for more than 20 min each

I have been trying to call Vodacom Insurance all morning and have been on hold four times and gave up each time after 20 minutes - that is more than an hour of my life and the phone has still not been answered. Yet the "voice" on the hold function tells me how quick and easy this service is. So I tried to use the website to send a mail only to be told I can't without my Vodacom account number which I obviously do not carry with me! My cellphone number and identity number are not enough. I need to know the status of my claim - how hard can it be to answer the phone!?
