Bad service through misinformed information

I have my contract at least 4 years now, only in the beginning was I asked if I wanted cover on my handset which I took out, but it was not explained to me that the cover you take is for a certain amount.
So I think I am fully covered for my handset and that is what I have been paying for all these months!
With my 2nd upgrade Nellie at headoffice handled my call and asked me what handset and package I want, she did not go over all the information with me. She should have realised that the cover is less than the value of the handset and should have asked me if I want to increase it to the full value.
Now having lost my Blackberry 9320 unfortunately, they came back saying I am only covered for R1500 - 1st time ever I have heard about the value of the cover. The don't want to pay out and I insisted they listened to the calls regarding the upgrade. Now they are throwing the ball back in my court saying it is my responsibility to increase the cover amount - THIS IS MY POINT EXACTLY!!!
Should I have known from the start about the value set to the cover it would be my responsibility but they failed to ever discuss this with me. I want my Blackberry 9320 replaced a.s.a.p. = DISGUSTING!
