PATHETIC SERVICE & BLATANT BREACH OF COVER

I signed an insurance contract in 2010 to cover my cellphone for a value between 5001 and 7, 900 (the covered band) where the pay out will be depedant on the value of the handset less excess subject to the upper limit of the covered band. My handset was at the end of April 2013 and I followed the insurance stipulated procedures to lodge a claim, my claim was approved for an amount of 7, 000 which was not in line with the contract in particular the covered band I signed since my device was worth more than the upper band of 7, 900 I was expecting a payout amount of 7, 900 (i.e. their maximum liability) When I queried the inconsistencies I was informed that my covered band was between 5000 and 7000 which is not inline with what I signed, I then asked them to send me the contract I signed and to my expectation the contract I signed stipulated I was covered for between 5001 and 7, 900. Their client service was very poor as I was on the phone for more than 3 hours (an equivalent of over R550 in airtime) with their call centre consultants, more than half the time I was put on hold and being bounced back and forth like a tennis ball. To date this issue has not been resolved.
