On January 3rd, I applied for a new line at the Claremont- Cape Town branch of TELKOM. I was told by the agent there that my line will be installed in no later than 2 - 3 weeks time.
- A week ago I went to the Canal Walk - Cape Town branch just to follow up on my application. I was stunned when the agent there told me my application was "forgotten" and he can only book me a date for 18.02.2014.
When I urged for an expedited date the days ahead over the phone, I was given one for... 17.02.2014, which is literally one day earlier.

First of all I am bemused that an application can simply be "forgotten" in a system. That is the first time I've ever heard something like this from what is supposed to be a well respected company.
Secondly, I am unwilling to wait a month and half for something that was supposed to take a maximum of 3 weeks. It's unacceptable to treat customers this way.

Now I've run out of options including phoning, going to the agency, OR even reporting this problem on Facebook.

My request is simple: LIVE UP TO YOUR PROMISE and send someone to install my line by no latter than January 31st.
