I went in to the MTN Pavillion Store 170 to upgrade my handset from a Blackberry 9900 to a Samsung S4. I spent almost 1 hour with the sales person trying to decide whether to change my contract or upgrade. After lots of questions and answers, I decided to stay on my Top-up 350. Even though there was less data and it would be costlier, if I upgraded I would loose my data and airtime accumulated and have a dangerous open line. (MTN has no limit)
After using my phone I always check the airtime balance and I noticed the airtime was decreasing BUT not the DATA. So, my phone was using the money I had accumulated and NOT the data. In less than a week (with wifi at home and work) it had taken over R450 worth of airtime for data use.
I was horrified and phoned MTN SP 808 only to find that it was because my Blackberry services had NOT been removed and when they did remove it, I would LOOSE all the data (1.23GB) I had accumulated.
NOW, not only am I paying more a month because the deals at MTN are so awful, but have lost all my data and airtime and have to go out and buy airtime to convert because they do not sell data bundles. (as per the 808 consultant)
What do I do?
