On 15 Dec. I got a sms saying I was signed-up for "CellC Get It". I didn't ask for this & called to request cancellation. I was told my request would be logged; investigated & money taken refunded. I didn't get feedback after this & called back at least 3 times (once after I received a 2nd sms saying I had been subscribed). Each time I was told the request was logged already & would be attended to shortly. I gave them the benefit of the doubt & didn't follow up again. I now received my statement & the subscription isn't cancelled. I'm being charged Dec. & Jan subscriptions. I called on 31 Jan. at 9:30am & got the same story. They tried to transfer me to the agent responsible for my query, but he wasn't available so he was sent an e-mail requesting he contact me urgently. This was last Thurs, it's now Mon afternoon & I have heard nothing.
This is disgraceful service & illegal. ITO the Consumer Protection Act, no service provider can sign a client up for a subscription without explicit consent of the client. At no stage did I give permission to sign me up for this. They've now debited my bank account for a subscription didn't authorize - again violating the Consumer Protection Act.
