Cancellation of upgrade

In and during December 2013 I upgraded my cell phone contract through the call centre and at the same time changed my 1gb data contract of R99 to the R69 option. The next day I took delivery of my S4 and decided that I don't want to change my data contract to the R69 1gb option, but instead stay on the same R99 price plan and receive 2gb of data. I contacted the upgrade call centre and informed them of my change and since it was still the middle of the month it wouldn't affect any debit orders. I was assured by the gentleman that all was in order and the upgrade was cancelled.
Later in December my dongle became faulty and I went to the Vodacom Gardens Centre branch in CPT. I was informed by a very helpful Cindy that I do not qualify for a new device as I recently upgraded. I was naturally very upset and told her what happened. She advised that I can request a cancellation of the upgrade via the call centre, which we did on 30 Dec. After a long struggle we were informed that the cancellation will take place in 5 days. To this day it has not happened despite numerous phone calls and promises. I want the R129 router package, but instead I'm paying R69 and they are missing out.
