Good day, I have been a customer of Vodacom going on 8 years. My average bill thus far was plus minus R250 a month. I bought a Samsung S4 cash as I was due for an upgrade on 14 December 2013. I then changed my contract to accommodate the data usage factor. I was told though that the new contract would only start in January 2014, I had no say in this.

For the month of December, Vodacom slapped me with a R4000 bill, which is totally pathetic, seeing as there was no contact from Vodacom indicating this ridiculous increase in rand value regarding my bill. No one notified me at any given time the costs of the data usage, I didn't sign for anything. Is this not illegal, or even unethical?? The only way possible to check your bill in rand value is to log in on the website. This is a typical scenario of a company taking advantage of a customer, seeing the customer running up a massive bill, which is half of my salary and just sitting back, and smiling at the revenue it is making off its customers (use to be loyal to the business).

I would like to know from Vodacom; is the company proud of the loopholes and pitfalls that it creates for its own customers? I think its a disgrace.
