Contract approved but no stock for a month

I applied for a contract at MTN first week of December 2013.The contract was approved but the consultant never bothered to call me up until I made a follow up. She then said the reason for not calling is that they don't have stock. I waited for three weeks and to date I assume they haven't as yet received the stock. My problem is that why don't they inform their clients upon application that they don't have stock? It doesn't even show on their advert that they are running short of stock. Is it the client`s duty to call every time to check if the gadget has arrived or not? What me off is that the lady even went to an extend of advising me to cancel the contract. Is it because MTN has lots of clients that they don't mind to loose some? THEY DONT CARE ABOUT EXPANSION? I regret the day I wanted to switch to MTN
