Simswap taking almost 4 days, no reception yet

On Sunday the 5th January 2014 at approx 16:00 i went to Mtn Cape Gate
Shop details are as follows :
MTN store - Cape Gate Shopping Centre Shop L58 - Brackenfell
I went to upgrade my contract to a Sony Xperia Z1 and had to do a simswap in order to obtain a micro sim.
I was told the sim swap will take between 2-24 hours to activate.
Monday night, January 6, I email Mtn customer care AS I DO NOT HAVE A PHONE TO BE CALLED OR CALL FROM (my previous phone is broken due to water damage- hence the upgrade)
Tuesday afternoon 7 January i receive a reply.
These are the exact words from the email:
"Thank you for emailing Customer Care.
We apologize for the delayed response.
Kindly note a query reference number 107860500 has been sent to MTN Technical support department to process the sim swap on the network the turnaround time is 2 / 24 hours.
We look forward to being of service to you in the future.

I also attempted numerous times to phone shop number from a landline, no answer.
Tonight is wednesday the 8th, tomorrow morning will be the 4th day without any reception. I missed urgent calls due to this phone being a work phone
