Do be careful when getting a phone from Vodacom

Telecommunications

I have been with Cell C for the past few years, and was due for an upgrade. I never renewed my contract as I could not find a suitable package. I was told (by a friend) of an attrative package that Vodacom has on offer. I then decided to go instore and do the application on 28 Dec 2012. Jade the consultant was very helpful and my contract was appoved almost instantly. I then returned to the store that day later to collect my phone (No mind the hour wait). I had an emmergency that meant I had to go to Plettenberg Bay on the Monday, 31 Dec 2012. I only managed to return to Cape Town on Monday 7 Jan 2013. My neice liked my new phone and told me that this was indeed a touch screen, however was not working. I took the phone instore and the gentleman in store told me that I am responsible to have the phone repaired. Please clarify this for me. I then called Karen at 082 555 7551, and she had reitterated that I need to take the phone to Vodacare, just read a review on Vodacare Century city, so no thanks.

The unit has a 7day out of box warrenty, what happens in a case that if you are unsure as to all the features of the phone and you later discover a specific feature is non existant?
