Wrong info given & massive run around to fix phone

I went in to get my phone fixed and was told that it would take 4-6 weeks to get fixed. When I said that I can't hand in my phone for that period of time, they sent me to Vodacare, because I have a Vodacom contract. I got to Vodacare and they wouldn't accept my phone because I didn't have proof of payment (never mentioned by Autopage that I needed this).
I then went back to Autopage, got proof of payment, back to Vodacare, and handed in my phone. I then received a call from Vodacare saying they won't fix it because it is not a Vodacom phone. When I tried to contact Autopage again, after a week of corresponding, I was told that Autopage has no way of knowing which phones come from which supply and maybe I should try MTN and see if they will fix it. No offer to find out if its an MTN or Cell-C phone, or to contact these suppliers. When I voiced my concern I was told that then I have no choice but to bring it in for 4-6 weeks (Vodacare has a 3 day return rate).
I'm very disappointed with the level of communication as well as service from Altech Autopage. What's the point in having a contract with them if there is no support or service when something goes wrong.
