In September 2012 I had my wallet and cellphone out of my bag at a jazz concert in Johannesburg. As this was a second phone which i hardly ever used, I did not realise it was and thus only reported my wallet as. This was brought to my attention two weeks later when Vodacom phoned me to inquire why my usage was so high. To cut a long story short they told me I was liable for the debt as I failed to report and block the line. As this is no small amount I negotiated with a lady in the CEO's office by the name of Lerato Mokgatlhe and she agreed to reduce the debt by 50%. I also opened a case of with the Unit of SAPS hoping to catch the culprit and send them to prison. To my surprise when SAPS concluded their investigation, Detective Ndlovu informed me that it was in fact within Vodacom. In light of this news I emailed Lerato and told her that i refused to pay the 50% we agreed on. I did not feel it was fair for me to pay for committed by its employees. Lerato said she would take this up with the relevant department and assist to resolve this. Over a year later, this has still not been resolved and they have also black listed me for this debt.
